How I got here
My love and fascination with the ocean began when I was ten. I found a book at the library about marine biology and I, no pun intended, was immediately hooked.

When I was 18, I began an internship with the New England Aquarium in Boston, Massachusetts, and was introduced to a terrible secret: everything I do eventually affects the ocean, and usually in a negative way. The food I eat, the car I drive, what I do with my trash, where I buy my shoes…everything harms the amazing creatures and habitats that I spent most of my conscious life adoring.

I was shocked. There are billions of people negatively affecting the oceans everyday and they do not necessarily realize the effect of their choices and purchases.

This state of shock eventually directed me towards a semester abroad in Townsville, Australia, which then eventually directed me towards an undergraduate senior thesis. A recurring theme being what small changes a person can make in their daily life to decrease their environmental footprint.

This eventually led me to this blog.
A space to bring together these tips and tricks to live a more sustainable, less wasteful, and less environmentally harmful life. Some of these take very little effort, and some are free. Some ideas are larger shifts in attitude and have a greater impact on one’s life. And some you might already do and don’t even realize.

I hope this space helps you enjoy sustainability, daily.
